Take a monstrous leap into the real world

Think college is a scary place? Just imagine going to a university full of monsters whose only intentions are to scare.

The creators of Monsters Inc.[ a Pixar film] released in 2001, directed by Pete Doctor took a step back to show how two monsters worked their way up to The Big shots to get a job at the scaring factory. Monsters University Directed by Dan Scanlon was released June 21, 2013 receiving 7.7 stars out of 10, just short of the 8 out of 10 stars that the original movie received.

“I loved the movie even though I had higher expectations for it”, says junior Drew Vineyard.  The sequel didn’t quite live up to its standards, but it definitely got the attention that it needed, taking in 82 Million dollars the weekend it was released.

Monsters University portrays the struggles of college, but places them into  perspective for all viewers.

Mike Wazowski had dreamed of being a scarer since the day his elementary school visited the scare factory for a field trip. He put all his effort into getting accepted to Monsters University, and when accepted all effort was put towards his studies. Not soon after the first semester Wazowski was kicked out of the scare program along with James P. Sullivan. Neither of them was going let that be their last chance to prove how scary they truly are.

Wazowski never gave up, he made friends with his enemies, proved his “Haters” wrong, and climbed his way to the top. Pixar made it easy for people to relate to the movie, even if you weren’t a senior getting ready to head off to college or a little kid who needed some entertainment.
