A night full of games, food and music drew record number of people to the annual Hawkstock event on May 31.

Ross Jarrar, current junior class president and host of the event, began by welcoming attendees.  The first performance of the evening was given by vocalist and guitarist, Mackenzie Wolf, who serenaded the audience with her rendition of “I never told you,” written by Colbie Caillat and then  Maroon 5’s song, “ She will be loved.”

Jake Keller and Cody Kendig followed with a duet and  Keller returned to the stage with a solo ukulele performance.

“He’s[ Keller]  really good, it’s awesome he can  play a ukulele, and play it so well,” said sophomore Jodi Enfield after Keller’s performance.

Guitarist Jack Lambert, vocalist Savannah Phelps and  percussionist Delanie Blomquist  followed Keller’s performance.

“Getting ready took a lot of work and practice,” stated Phelps, “ It was so much fun though, Jack helped me get over my stage fright which made performing even more fun.”

The Graffs performed “Dance with me” by Orleans followed by a duet between Stephanie Wilson and Sheldon Kinsler. Wilson also sung Anna Kendrick’s  “Cup Song” solo.

“…I love Hawkstock, I come every year. I am so jealous of everyone’s talent,” stated junior  Nicole Sexton right after Wilson’s performance.

Shiloh McCurry, who also performed at the 2013 Talent Show, once again showcased her vocals and keyboard skills.  Among a host of other talents, junior guitarist Mark Keller, the band Almost Certain, and vocalist Noah League also performed.

“It’s [Hawkstock] always great to see our peers come out and support all the talent we have at North Harford,” League stated.  Following League, couple Zoe Tanner and Chase Reeves performed a duet together. Julia Scheinberg and Braden Stinar also performed solos.

“He has a voice of an angel, I wish I could sing that well,” said sophomore Mercy Dunham  of Stinar’s performance.

Mr. Ben Scarborough, SGA advisor and coordinator of Hawkstock, described the night as “great.” Scarborough put many hours into planning this event along with senior Hannah Richardson and  Jarrar.

“We had really good weather, all the acts were fantastic, this was the most successful Hawkstock yet,” Scarborough stated.

Hawkstock has become a yearly tradition of the SGA and students are already looking forward to next year.

“ I really enjoyed Hawkstock this year, I loved all the musical performances and  I  planning on  coming back next year,” said sophomore Logan Reitz..
