Girls Basketball

Swoosh, dribble, score. That’s the name of the game. The girls varsity basketball team is doing just that. Mr. Kris Kapinos in his second year as head coach, and Mrs. Wendy Feight is in her first year as assistant coach.

Senior Kaylee Holliger has a really positive attitude towards the team. “I think we are looking good.  We’re looking a lot better then last year, and more athletic,” Holliger said.

Coach Kristopher Kapinos is really pushing the girls to strive to do well. Holliger also stated that, “The coaching staff was a little better than last year, but it was Kap so I already kind of knew what to expect,” Holliger said.

Seniors April Jones and Claire Macatee believe that they have a good shot to do very well this year. “ I think we are in good shape, I think we have a good chance of winning a lot of games,” Jones said. Macatee stated, “We’ve been working really hard, especially in practice, and Kap has been pushing us, and he thinks we are going to do well this year.”

Jones praised that Annie Wernig is finally back in action with the Lady Hawks, “We have Annie back which is really good;  she’s really good down low , and her speed is amazing.  She’s ridiculously fast, even with that injury, but shes still the fastest girl,” said  Jones. Macatee said “she has a lot of knowledge towards the game, and she knows what to do with the ball.”
