Wieters gearing up for yet another year with the O’s

Matt Wieters or (gold glove Wieters) as some may call him is an all time catcher. He signed with the Baltimore Orioles back in 2007 and has already had a shot at displaying his talent in the majors.

Wieters contract  ran out at the end of the 2015 season and fans thought that was it. 2016 was yet again a good year, and Wieters was resigned for the 2016 season on a 15.8 million dollar contract. Wieters is a key player to the O’s but as a result of them getting him for one year, the Orioles will have less cash to spend on retaining Chris Davis and Darren O’Day.

Wieters 2015 career wasn’t the best but  Baltimore is hoping to get the absolute most out of him for 2015 so they can go somewhere big. Both the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles didn’t have the best year in 2015 so both will come back strong . Wieters is one of the strongest catchers in the league as his stats show all around the board.

Senior Bobby Gay is very happy about this one year contract and thinks that it will help the Orioles out very much. “I think the Orioles will start to get there team back together and go far again like in 2014.” said Gay. The reason Wieters will definitely help is because he has been our starting catcher for many years and fans and other players won’t be able to fill his position because he is a catcher that is very talented. Gay continued  “The main reason we made it so far in 2014 was because of Adam Jones ,Chris Davis and Matt Wieters. Some fans may think this is true but some may not.”

So now that Wieters will be joining the Orioles for the 2016 year what do fans think will happen? Will they succeed or will they fall after last year’s horrible season? Can they turn things around for the good and make it a good year? Stick around for the 2016 season and find out.
