‘Glee’ star found dead in hotel room

Cory Monteith, actor on the hit show “Glee” was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room on July 13. At first, the cause of death was not apparent, but police believe a drug overdose of heroin and alcohol is what killed the 31 year old.

This does not come as a shock to the actor’s family, however, since Monteith had been in and out of rehab for drug abuse since the age of 19. Monteith started experimenting with drugs and alcohol at 13.

The cast of “Glee” is grieving the loss of their friend and co-star after his untimely death, especially actress Lea Michele. Michele was dating Monteith at the time of his death and has asked for privacy from the media.

Monteith had been on the show since 2009 and played Finn, a football player who was forced to join the glee club at his high school. The popularity of Monteith’s character caused a spark in social media, and many supportive trends took place on Twitter as a result, including “RIPCoryMonteith” and “PrayForLea.” Fans everywhere have made the message clear that Monteith will not soon be forgotten, and will always be remembered as “a teenage heart throb.”

The star’s death has affected students at North Harford as well. With drug problems worsening every year, it seems that almost anyone has the potential to fall into a dark addiction.

“I know a lot of people my age who smoke and do drugs, and hopefully people can learn from Cory Monteith’s mistakes before it’s too late for them,” said junior Jeff Green.

The producers of “Glee” are not yet sure what they are going to do about the death of Monteith, but they know that acknowledgements must be made due to the fact that his character was of much importance.

Funeral arrangements are being made by Michele and Monteith’s family, and it is rumored that the star will be buried in his birth country of Canada.
