Senior class hosts annual Harvest Party

On October 29 from 5 to 7pm, the cafeteria will be filled with ghouls and goblins and pirates and princesses as the senior class hosts the 27th annual Harvest Party. The night will be filled with games, relay races, costume contests and refreshments, all supplied by volunteers from the class of 2015.
A North Harford tradition that has been in place since 1986, the Harvest Party allows the senior class to participate in a community service project while also raising money.
“It’s great to see the senior class come together to participate in a community service project but also enjoy themselves,” senior advisor Ms. Linda Duncan stated.
Similar to years past a quarter auction will be held in order to raise money for the class of 2015. All proceeds go towards the costs of the senior class picnic and any money left over may be put towards needy seniors, for example those who can not afford a yearbook, announcements, etc.
“I am really excited to dress in costume and help with a community service,” senior Andrew Klapka stated.
Each year all elementary feeder schools are invited to partake in the festivities. In years past face painting, caricatures, bowling and wet sponge tosses have been offered as well as a haunted hallway. According to Duncan, on average 150 elementary school kids attend the party and over a third of the senior class volunteer in some way, whether actually attending the party or even just donating refreshments.
