New motto memoralizes new school year

On Friday October 14, North Harford High School held its annual pep rally planned by the varsity club and advisors Mrs. Beth Brown and Mr. Eugene Liebel.

At the pep rally, the new saying “One Hawk,  one nation” was introduced to the entire student body.

“We are trying to have everyone be more involved with each other and show more support for each other. Right now it’s more with sports because it started with varsity club, but we would like to see it go to all  clubs so we can see ourselves as one Hawk and together as one Hawk,” said Liebel.

Senior Maddy Clark said, “I have been a part of the school for three years and I just think this is such a cool thing that hasn’t been done before.” Clark continued to add, “It represents unity and coming together as a school no matter what.”

Liebel stated the main goal in making this logo is to “support each other and that will help us be as successful as we can be.”

Clark stated, “I know for me I get more pumped up at games when there are more people cheering us on and I think that’s the point of the logo. To encourage everyone to go to sporting events and other events to encourage each other and show that we are united.”

Two varsity club members respond to the motto. Senior Natalee Hood said, “I’m excited! I think it will really gets school spirit going. I also think it will allow people to want to be a part of this logo and it will make us excited to go to games and other events.” Senior Courtney Klapka also said “I think it will allow people to have more school spirit and it can be a saying that everyone can agree on. It’s different what other schools have which makes us unique.” Varsity club is also selling bracelets with the logo to promote school spirit.

The pep rally ended with principal Mr. Colin Carr leading the students in a cheer: “One Hawk, One  nation.”
