Traitorship taken to new level

Three teenage girls decided to play hooky and not tell their parents. Only, this wasn’t an ordinary day of skipping school, unless flying to Turkey is considered a casual day.
Assad Ibrahim got a call from his daughter’s school saying she was absent. When he called her, she just said she was late, that’s all. Two other girls, sisters, told their father, Ali Farah, that they were going to the library. He didn’t see a problem with that. Two 15-year-olds and one 17-year-old figured that their parents wouldn’t notice the missing passports or the $2000 cash that suddenly disappeared.
These girls didn’t just want to experience a new country, they wanted to experience a new lifestyle, one that included joining ISIS. The terrorist group that’s biggest target is the United States, their home, because that makes sense.
Ibrahim first noticed his daughter’s passport was missing. Once he found out that Farah’s daughters were missing as well, Ibrahim had him check for his daughters’ passports, which also happened to vanish. At that point, it was obvious the parents had a problem, so they called the FBI. The agency put a notice on their passports and the girls were eventually caught at the Frankfurt airport. They were put on a plane back to the United States where they were greeted by a group of FBI agents. After questioning the girls, they were released to head to their homes in Denver, Colorado. Officials figured out later that the girls had connections over the internet with ISIS members. These girls, though they have been taught not to talk to strangers over the internet, were communicating with people who are terribly dangerous.
Don’t parents always say, “Don’t talk to strangers, especially on the internet”? Isn’t that common sense, especially to teens this age? It should be embarrassing for all teens to say that these girls are their peers. They ruin things for everyone. One huge stupid mistake like this just makes everyone paranoid. Hopefully they have officially proven to other kids that not everyone on the internet is who they say they are.
Plus, how stupid can kids be to leave their country for a group that’s haunting their country? How can anyone be trusted after this story? And how could the FBI just let these girls off the hook? This story left so many questions unanswered that deserve to be recognized. No one should feel safe with teens like this and ISIS gaining contact over the internet so easily. Especially since the FBI, who should be doing everything in their power to keep the United States safe, let these girls go without really finding out their true intentions. These girls made an idiotic decision and they should have to pay for it. Being let off the hook for this could make them think they could get away with anything.
