If little girls know that one out of five women will be a victim of rape and that statistic is unacceptable, then maybe it is time for something to be done.
The Potty Mouth Princesses are a group of young girls who have taken women’s equality into their own little hands. Even if it’s not in the most conventional way, their message is: what is more offensive? Little girls dropping f-bombs or the sexist tendencies of society?
If I’m going to be honest, I would rather listen to little girls cussing than someone telling me I can’t do something just because I’m a girl. Or that I will get paid 23% less than a man for doing the exact same job. Or that if I get straight A’s in college, I will be paid just as much as a man who graduated with C’s. Last I checked, a C is nowhere close to an A.
You want to know what else is messed up? People are bugging out about these little girls rather than supporting their message. They are too busy gawking at the fact that they are cussing to even bother listening to what they have to say. If little girls cussing doesn’t get your attention, I don’t know what will. You just might be a lost cause.
A speech like Emma Watson’s, as exquisite as it was, only stayed in the news for two weeks tops. Then outrageous promotions like the princesses get hate for being too liberal. What does society want from us? To just sit down and accept inequality? Not going to happen.
I will give the news credit for covering stories about victims of rape but do these women really get justice? The unequal pay difference is always brought up, but does anyone do anything about it? Less women are going into science and math careers, but thanks to companies like Verizon and Dove, attention is finally being paid to it. It’s time to stop talking and actually do something about these injustices.
Now are little girls who speak the unthinkable f-word worse than women not getting justice? I think not.
