Excitement builds for blockbuster film The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The Amazing Spider- Man 2 is sure to be a blockbuster hit, and fans of the first film have high expectations for this sequel. They expect action, drama, and awesome special effects — and they will get it all.
Spider- Man’s history on the big screen dates back to 2001 so it should come as no surprise that some people can’t wait to see this movie.
Sophomore Andrew Alisea is a huge Spider- Man fan.
“The newer films are better because they are more action-packed and more entertaining,” said Alisea.
Other fans agree because technology has allowed directors and movie makers to do things they couldn’t do back in 2001, when the first Spider-Man movie was released. Sophomore Marc Giesecke has not seen the film yet, but he is expecting a lot of action and suspense. Junior Shawn Dailey has seen the film and confirms that fans like Giesecke will not be disappointed. “Everything happened that I expected… it had more action and a better plot; it was better than the first Spider-Man movie,” said Dailey.
Dailey does caution that movie goers should see the first movie before this newest release otherwise they risk being confused.
One big change viewers might notice is that Spider- Man has had a costume change in the newer movies. Alisea again likes the newer Spider Man’s costume better because “it’s more intricate, it’s more of today’s flavor and it’s different….and that’s what makes it cool.” Costume designer Deborah Scott said, “We wanted the most Spider- Man-y Spider- Man and that’s what we got.”
One thing that attracts fans to this movie is Spider- Man’s villains including the Green Goblin. “He’s a cool character with an awesome costume,” said Alisea. “You can’t have Spiderman without the Green Goblin– he’s like Spider- Man’s arch rival.”
Spider-Man is not everyone’s favorite movie superhero, including Alisea, who actually prefers Batman. In a recent poll done by ign.com, Batman ranks as number one with 28.4 percent of the votes, and Spider- Man ranks as number two with 20.3 percent of the votes.
