One things is for sure:  being famous can put pressure on a marriage.  Just ask Beyonce and Jay Z.   Like many Hollywood couples, there are  factors to consider before making the decision to get a divorce and in the case of this super couple , their child and their careers are at the forefront.

     Beyoncé Knowles began her journey to superstardom by becoming a member of the girl’s pop group, Destiny’s Child.

    As reported by Billboard.com, after their “break up”, Knowles produced an album called “Dangerously in Love” that established herself as a solo artist and eventually landed  her on  the charts .

  In 2002, Knowles and Jay Z produced “’03 Bonnie and Clyde” ,which reached number four on the Billboard’s Hot 100. After six years of dating and marriage rumors, Knowles and Jay Z finally got married. Four years after their marriage, the couple had their first child, Blue Ivy.

   Everything seemed to be going perfectly for the power couple until  May at the Met Gala.

TMZ published a hotel elevator security video of Knowles’s sister, Solange attacking Jay Z. Knowles is also in the video watching at a distance. According to The Huffington Post, Solange gave very little explanation as to why this fight happened.

   During an interview with CNN, the Knowles family states, “As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident.”

   Soon, rumors of cheating and divorce  were all over the media. During the couples ‘On the Run Tour,’ Knowles changed the words to her song “Flawless,” saying “We escalate, up in this (expletive) like elevators. Of course sometimes (expletive) go down when there’s a billion dollars on the elevator.”

    No one is sure what is going on between the couple. After performing at the VMA’s, Jay Z and Blue Ivy presented Knowles with her award. They acted as though they were still a couple, and there remains confusion about their status.

   “I think they will probably get a divorce,” said junior Halle Simon.

    Halle’s twin sister, Hannah Simon, asks “Are they still together? I don’t even know.”
