Children, candy, games..oh my! The annual Harvest Party occurred on October 26, 2017. This event is held every year in order to raise money for the senior class. The upperclassmen came all dressed in their costumes to accompany the little kids as they went and participated in events.

Senior Abby Renzulli came dressed as a superhero to hang out with the kiddos. ”I had a table with a game, we had three cups and we put a piece of candy underneath one of the cups. The kids had to guess which cup had candy under it and if they got it right they would get a prize, but even if they were wrong I still gave them a piece of candy.”

Fellow senior Julia Cameron also attended and created a sweet game for the kids to play. “I played a can stacking game where each kid had to pay a ticket to throw a ball three times. If they knocked all the cans down they won candy.”

Chris Parks created a ring toss involving a donated inflatable spider. “I had plastic black and yellow rings for the kids to toss.” To keep things challenging Parks tells, “According to age I moved the spider farther away from them or closer. If the got three rings on then I gave them a pumpkin ball, if they got two I gave them a plastic spider ring and if they got one I gave them a halloween tattoo.”

Along with a bunch of other games there was a haunted hallway. The upperclassmen dressed up in their spookiest attire in an attempt to scare the little ones.

Renzulli tells of the haunted experience, “I lead the kids through the haunted hallway to make sure they didn’t get too scared. There also was a section in the hallway where the kids closed their eyes and stuck their hand in a bowl filled with ‘body parts’ but it was just peeled grapes and cooked spaghetti noodles.”

Out of all the events Renzulli shares that “my favorite thing was just seeing the kids and helping support the school. We had a really good turn out and I think we raised a good amount of money for the senior class.”

The harvest party was a good time had by all. Cameron states, “The kids obviously had a good time with all the candy and games.” However the parents of the little trick-or-treaters also had a chance to hang out. “If they weren’t playing or crafting with their kids, they got a chance to sit back and let their kids run around without them having to chase them.” The senior class provided a safe, spooky, and silly party for the community.
