Blasting off into space or recovering extinct species; future jobs that will be in high demand

Jobs are what keeps the economy and the world functioning, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics 2.09 million jobs were created in 2019. In the first month of 2020, the economy created 225,000 jobs but fell when US job losses hit an all-time high due to COVID-19. As you can see jobs are being created and being destroyed, but what’s to come for jobs, what new jobs will be needed in the future to come?

Experts from Resumeble, a professional career advice site, claim the 10 following jobs will be in high demand between 2025 and 2050: Space, pilot, data detective, ethical source manager, extinct species revivalist, companion for the aged, IT service broker, AI specialist, UX designer, 3D printing engineer, and finally digital rehabilitation counselor.

The commercial space industry is supposedly getting “ready to launch.” So, all your childhood dreams can come true as pilots certified to fly a spacecraft will be rising in demand over the next few years. This job will imaginably be one of the highest paying jobs of the future. Don’t get too excited as NASA’s requirements are as stated: “applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, biological or physical science, computer science, or math. Second, you must have three years of related professional experience or 1,000 hours of piloting.” On top of that, you will have to pass what’s called the  NASA long-duration astronaut physical.

In the past 400 years, 800 extinctions have been documented by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. As that number slowly rises to be low but 0.1% of all species will go extinct each year, between 200 to 2,000 species could go extinct. That is why experts report an extinct species revivalist will become extra handy in years to come. Technology that is made to revive extinct species will allegedly be soon able to recreate organisms and place them back where they belong. This technology uses “genome editing to extract and synthesize DNA strands.” This job will require an understanding of biology, medicine, and chemistry with a full understanding of ethical, geographic, and legal concerns that will affect the revived species.

As the future is not here yet all you can do to achieve one of these jobs is train. Many other new jobs will need the younger generation to step in and take over. So, find something that seems like the dream job, or find something that you think will pay well and get training as time isn’t stopping for anyone.
