Football remains focused; positive in every situation

The football team has been working hard since the first day of tryouts. The boys have been running, hitting, and working on plays and are ready to take on this season’s competitors.

The team is in good shape this season and is pumped to take on every team on their schedule. The three senior captains, Nic Hammer, Jake Hughes, Ryan Feiss and one junior captain, Scott Angstadt, all agree that the team this year is much better conditioned than last year.

Each captain really enjoys being on the team and feels it is a huge privilege to be voted captain. They also feel blessed to be coached by some of the most knowledgeable and best coaches in the state of Maryland.

“My favorite part about being on the team is appreciating the opportunity we are given to be varsity football players,” said Hammer. “It is a privilege to represent your school and community in the best way.”

Though the team believes it stills needs to work on defense and blocking, they are very positive and know that the problem can easily be fixed if they all stay focused. Hughes stated that the team this year is like a brotherhood, they can fix any problems that arise.

The team is expected to beat their biggest rivals, C. Milton Wright, who they have beaten in past years.

“ C. Milton is a huge rival because they are fast and know the game of football well,” said Feiss

Angstadt predicts that if the boys stay focused in every game and play every game like it’s the championship, they will make it to states.
