Upcoming Berrell Memorial Golf Tournament

Starting at noon on April 14, 2018 Geneva Farms will be hosting the first Annual Win Berrell Memorial Golf Tournament. Berrell was a member of the varsity golf team, and community members recognized how to honor him through one of his passions.

The idea was presented by NHHS Golf Coach, Nick Panos, and is being organized by community member Cathy Gay. The coed tournament will be “Captain’s Choice”, meaning it’s a team event with preferably four people to a team.

To compete in the tournament it costs $100 which includes the player’s meal. The meal that will be served after the tournament is one of steak and crab cakes with prizes that will be presented and a silent auction will take place with lots of winnings including one of Berrell’s favorites: a bushel of crabs.

Current member of the Booster Club, Carol Kettell, states, “Proceeds from the tournament will go to a variety of great causes including some NHHS clubs, junior golf development and the Win Berrell Scholarship fund. These areas are special to Win and his family.”

The Booster Club is hoping to see the community come together as Kettell concludes, “Win was a super special person who was taken way too early. Events like this give everyone a chance to join together to celebrate his life, and honor him by doing good for others. It also helps everyone keep Win in their hearts as they see pictures displayed, and share stories.”

Anyone who desires to participate must mail in their registration form which can be found on the Edline home page.
