Keenan levels up in ballet career; Sophomore dances her way to summit

Bryn Cespedes, Reporter

Sophomore Claire Keenan is a young ballet dancer. Participating in hip-hop, ballet, maunder, jazz, tap, and lyrical dancing classes she recently leveled up in ballet. Over the summer she received permission to start Pointe ballet. Different from normal ballet, in pointe a dancer wears blocked satin shoes to allow the dancer to balance their body on the tips of their toes. Pointe ballet takes a lot of physical and mental endurance. “Ballet in general teaches a lot of discipline and control.” states Keenan. Keenan says, It takes a lot to look graceful even when you’re straining every muscle in your body.”
