Headliners touring the world; Students get prepared for experiences

Concerts are showing up all over town and many students are planning to attend shows over the course of the summer.

According to thecapitoltheatre.com there are ten different reasons why people should be attending more concerts in their lifetime. Some of those reasons are “Sharing music is one of the strongest bonds between friends.” While going to a show by yourself is always a different experience, nothing can compare to the moments you share with someone close to you during an experience.

The article continues explaining “concerts give you a chance to truly be yourself.” Many shows and festivals are the prime opportunity to wear outfits that are truly unique. The article explains how “concerts spread a sense of community” as “No matter where you come from, once you walk through those venue doors everyone surrounding you is there for the same reason. Even at a sold-out show, the feeling of connection is overwhelming. You just can’t get that same feeling many other places.”

Senior Emily Vaughn explains she is going to the “Bleeders tour” on May 16 to see the band Black Veil Brides. Vaughn is planning to attend because Black Veil Brides is her “favorite band.” The openers for this show will be bands Creeper, Dark Divine and Ghøstkid.

Vaughn explains “[I have seen] Dark Divine once, so this will be my second time seeing them and they are super cool. Creeper and Ghøstkid are new to me, though I have listened to some of their music before and it seems good as well”. “[Black Veil Brides] and the people they tour with are always so amazing. They are all genuinely nice people and make every show unique and fun.” She is going to see this show at The Fillmore in Philadelphia.

Junior Amelia Joyner is going to see Korn, Slipknot and Billie Eilish. The dates for these shows are September 23, August 9, and October 4 respectively. They decided to go to these shows as “[I] love Korn, it’s on my birthday and they’re close. This is also a tour of the century for me since they haven’t toured since I’ve been alive. Slipknot is one of my favorite bands of all time and seeing them in concert would be so cool. I’m going to see Billie because I love her music, especially her new album and I’ve always wanted to see her live since she’s one of my idols.”

“To see Korn live is one of the coolest things ever, I’m sure they will be amazing. Slipknot has so many band members and I would love to see them perform as one whole group. Billie Eilish concerts are always so cool looking SFX wise” they explain. They are going to Prudential Stadium in Newark, New Jersey to see Korn and CFG Bank arena for Slipknot and Billie Eilish.
