So many delicious scents fill the air of main street now that Straight Shooter Sweet opened up on January 6, 2024. During the week [Wednesday through Friday] they are open from 6 am to 2 pm, while on Saturday and Sunday they are open from 8 am to 3 pm. The new shop is located on 625 F Main Street Delta.
The owner Stacy Anderson runs the business by herself with the help of her husband occasionally. Previously Anderson was a dog groomer for 26 years before deciding to switch career path and do something she always loved. She stated, “I’ve always loved baking for people, so that love kind of pushed me to finally start Straight Shooter Sweets.” She continued, “So far this is the only location we have so far, as we have only been in business for about 2 weeks.
You can find all kinds of sweet treats at Straight Shooter Sweets. They have fresh donuts, cinnamon rolls, old fashion cakes, and even include gluten free cakes and baked goods for those gluten free lovers.
As for their signature treat Anderson stated, “It would have to be my cinnamon rolls.”
As for the other treats, Anderson stated that she tries to make something new everyday along with her regular treats. On Jan. 19, 2024 one of the treats of the day was a hot milk cake with hershey frosting.
As for Anderson she is a big believer in the local community and helping others. She stated, “I love to volunteer and help people and animals.” During the snowstorm she even offered free coffee and hot chocolate to those outside plowing and salting the roads.
Straight Shooter is also a name for an honest person. Anderson stated, “I’m a very honest person that also enjoys old western stuff, which straight shooters go with the western theme because they are old western revolvers. So the name fitted perfectly.”
To those out there thinking about a career in baking, Anderson says, “Just believe in yourself and no matter what anyone says, if you wanna do it you can do it. Everybody has their own, unique items in the baking business so there’s always someone out there that’s going to like something you make.”
