Jester and jokes. Murder and prison. The new movie created back in 2019 titled “Joker” sets a whole new level of controversy where a convincing plot and message just might go too far for the public.
The new hit film “Joker” tells a story of Arthur Fleck, played by Joaquin Pheonix, someone who is a failed comedian set to be forever alone in the world and tries to search for connections in the society around him. Fleck wears two masks: one that he wears during his day job as a clown, and another, a mask that he wears to try to fit in with the society around him. But Fleck’s hatred and sadness gives him a slow descent of becoming a criminal mastermind known only as The Joker.
Nevertheless, the film has a lot of hidden messages of how society and social realism might affect someone such as Arthur Fleck, a man just trying to fit in with the world around him.
Now, the film carries many fantastic scenes that the audience will surely remember as they exit the theater. The movie has such a great way of telling a story of how such a society can change a normal man into a criminal mastermind such as the Joker. This movie isn’t for the faint of heart, however, as many scenes are graphic and dark, but its music, actors, and scenes really get you a run for your money.
That being said, an infamous scene remembered by viewers where The Joker can be seen dancing to Rock and Roll Part 2 on a flight of steps, a song created by a convicted pedophile where The Joker can be seen having the time of his life before being chased down by Gotham City Police. Though this scene is dark and graphic, it is really powerful and spreads the message of how society has changed Arthur Fleck for the worse…
Overall, the film “Joker” spreads a powerful and dark message of how society changes men such as Arthur Fleck. The scenes of the movie are terrifying yet realistic to the plot of the film and spread an eye-opening message to the public, the reason for its controversy.
The movie is great and leaves a long-lasting impression, just make sure there aren’t any small children around… Remember, this movie isn’t for the faintest of heart!
