DreamWorks released the third movie to continue the Trolls movies. This was shown to the public in November this year and has had mixed reviews since the film was displayed.
Senior Aubrey Hyman has only seen the first movie but she “thinks it’s really nice they are coming out with a new one because [she] thinks kids will really enjoy it.” She claims, “I would see it but it probably wouldn’t be my first pick because when it first came out in 2016, I was a lot younger than I am now.”
She feels that some of the other movies produced by different companies tend to have “the same layout and outcome, but this one is different and unique in its own way.” Hyman says, “there is no other movie like it.”
This senior shares that she thinks these movies are successful because “the producers keep making more so people must like the films.” Hyman states, “I think this movie is more directed at little kids which makes sense but by changing some of the songs and scenes to be a little more mature, it could become interesting for all ages.”
The lesson she took away from this movie was about “friendship and being able to trust the people in your life.” Like Hyman, junior Jill Moore feels she learned most about friendship throughout the movies.
Moore claims, “I would definitely see the new one because there are new characters and backstories which makes sequels more entertaining.” She claims that this film made her think more “positive throughout life” and how “everyone can be happy and united together.”
Moore has hope that the new one “digs deeper into the lessons it can provide” compared to the first couple not doing that as much.
Sophomore Biannca Baker “thought it was weird they made a new one because [she] thinks it was kind of dragged out and they should have stopped at the second one.” Although feeling this way, Baker “would see it because [she] has a younger brother that would enjoy it.”
Baker claims, “this new one is appealing because the trailers got me interested in the backstory of the main troll having a sister and how different this one will be from the first couple.”She also mentions, “I think all of the movies were successful because when you go out to stores you can see merchandise and other branches made from these movies. It shows how well known it is and that a lot of people really enjoyed it, especially kids.”
In the end, Baker has learned “to be more grateful for what [she] has in life and to overall just to be happier.”
