Cheerleading leader flying high; Athlete of the month fighting hard
North Harford cheerleaders have worked through hardship to get to this point in the season.
With a coach in the hospital, the girls are stepping up to take on new leadership roles of their own.
“We, as a team, figured out we could be leaders,” said senior Gabi Bunnell who has been considered cheerleading’s Athlete of the Month.
She works hard to lead the team during their tournament season. Bunnell also continued practicing and preparing herself during the offseason by working on conditioning and staying flexible.
“We take on leadership roles without being told to and push ourselves to the highest we can,” said Bunnell.
The team will be competing at Kenwood High School on October 18 and on October 23 Harford Technical High School is hosting the county tournament.
There has been drama that the girls have had to overcome and made major headway.
“We need to forget about what other people say and go out and perform as best we can,” said Bunnell.
