Junior Sam Johnson says they “were not expecting to win.” She adds that the hardest thing for her and the team was “probably getting the plays right and trying to figure them out” while on the field. Johnson says that she “had a lot of fun” playing this year and cannot wait to play again last year. Her favorite part was “being able to play center because” she liked that a lot. She adds that she wouldn’t mind “being a running back next year.”
The girls played two 30-minute halves, playing full field, flag football style. There were 11 players from each team on the field at once. The game was refereed by football coach and business teacher Mr. Eugene Liebel alongside government Mr. Mark Filiaggi.
The winning score was intercepted by Minor who passed the ball to Dawson, who made the touchdown.
