Drawing, painting, practicing art; Unmeasurable benefits for brain

EMMA CORNMAN, Reporter

The brain is the most complex part of the human body. It is the control and command center for the body’s nervous system. The brain commissions one’s thoughts, emotions, actions, memory, and so much more. This highly functioning organ needs stimulation to keep performing at the highest of capabilities. One of the best ways to stimulate the brain is art.

An article on ACRM titled How The Brain is Affected by Art mentions how “there is increasing evidence in rehabilitation medicine and the field of neuroscience that art enhances brain function by impacting brain wave patterns, emotions, and the nervous system… art can also raise serotonin levels. These benefits don’t just come from making art – they also occur by experiencing art.”
