Do you have a special talent? Are you thinking about showing it off at North Harford’s annual talent show? This year, the talent show will take place two months earlier, on December 6. Make sure to prepare your acts early, because the big event is getting closer!
The decision to move the show to December stems from a big change in the yearbook staff’s schedule – the combination of yearbook and journalism staff. “We found that doing [the show] in February was too close on the calendar to Mr. North Harford. We decided to spread it out, especially now that we will all be working on both shows,” says senior Lola Steele.
Now that the show is sooner in the year, it is important to sign up as soon as possible. Steele explains how that process will take place. “There will be a QR code in the hallways. It will take you to a forms link where you will be able to fill in a bunch of questions. We will get back to everyone via email.”
If you have an act prepared, there will be at least two mandatory rehearsals. These will take place during the week of the talent show to make sure everyone is ready to go on at the end of the week.
“The talent show is a way to showcase not only the student’s talents, but the teacher’s talents as well. It is also a way for everyone to meet people they may not have known before,” says Steele. “It brings a community together.”
To buy tickets to this event, you must go to GoFan in order to make the purchase. “The profits go to the yearbook committee,” says yearbook advisor Ms. Bethany Birchfield. “Selling tickets allows them to produce the yearbook and put on this show each year.” The committee has been putting on the talent show annually since 2017. “Every little bit helps!”
Sophomore Avery Hackmann expresses her excitement for this year’s show. “Last year was so much fun- I can’t wait to see all the performances this December!”
