Baltimore Blast moving to Towson

JULIA FOSTER, Reporter

Calling all soccer fans! Can’t get enough of your favorite sport?  We have good news for you.
Baltimore Blast soccer games have been a favorite family pastime for years. Even if you don’t know anything about soccer, you will still have fun.
Since the beginning, the team has practiced and played at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore City, right near the Inner Harbor.  People in this area do not necessarily want to drive that far to see their favorite Maryland soccer team.
Well, they won’t have to anymore.
The team has found a new home for their 2017-18 season at the SECU arena located at Towson University , according to the Baltimore Sun. Their new location is only about a 40  minute drive from NHHS.
Why are they moving from their home of 37 years? Wbaltv.com reports, the new stadium will be able to hold about two times the amount of fans the old one could, so don’t hesitate to bring the whole family along, maybe even a few friends.
Although The Blast is a part of the major arena soccer league, they do not let their fame get to them. Over the 37 years since they have been founded they have become a very community oriented team.  They often visit and make appearances at area high schools, and local soccer tournaments.  Just a couple years ago they even set up a booth at North Harford Middle School’s  fit falcons day.

Their season is scheduled to start at the beginning of November, so get your tickets now!
