On October first, the sequel to Venom, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, was released to the public. Marvel fans are excited about the second film which is now in theaters.

In the action-filled and entertaining Venom sequel, the main character Eddie Brock, played by English actor Tom Hardy, is still coexisting with the alien shapeshifter, Venom. When insane serial killer Cletus Kasady, played by American actor Woodrow Harrelson, becomes the host of an alien similar to Venom, Brock and Venom must work out their differences to put a stop to his reign.

The film has a 59 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 6.6 out of ten rating on IMDb. 83 percent of Google Users liked the movie and it is currently rated at 4.2 out of five stars from Google users’ ratings also. Junior Logan Chapman says that the first Venom movie didn’t have as much action compared to Venom: Let There Be Carnage, “The first one was good but if I had to watch one or the other, I’d pick the second one.”

He also mentions, “I found the humor in the movie amusing because even though it is considered an action movie, the subtle humorous breaks were a nice rest from all the action.” Junior Ethan Jourdan agrees, “the humor was really good, I don’t know if that’s just because I have a dumb sense of humor, but I think the jokes (were) well written and act as a nice release of tension from all the action.” Jourdan says, “the portrayal of Cletus Kasady was my favorite part of the film.”

He continues, “In the comics, he is meant to be a psychotic maniac who uses his powers for evil and the acting in this movie captured that colorfully. It couldn’t have been cast any more perfectly than what it was.” Chapman also loved Woodrow’s role as Kasady as well, “I really liked Cletus, played by Woordrow Harrelson. He’s a really good actor and I like any movie that he’s in.”

Both Chapman and Jourdan said that the film was an eight out of ten overall. Jourdan continues to say, “There was room for improvement, but still a really great movie.” As for a third Venom movie Jourdan says, “I think this will probably be the last Venom movie, unfortunately. I don’t see how they could realistically fit another Venom into the already existing storyline.”

He adds, “This sequel didn’t leave anything to be desired and I honestly think it would be better if it was left at just two movies.” Chapman agrees, “I personally don’t really see any possible way they could keep the franchise going, I wouldn’t mind another Marvel movie though!”
