English singer and songwriter Alexander O’Connor, better known as Rex Orange County, is releasing his new album WHO CARES? on March 11. Fans anticipate this upcoming album to be one of his best.

O’Connor made his musical debut in 2015, with the album Bcos U Will Never B Free. He then went on to release three more albums which include Apricot Princess, Pony, and Live at Radio City Music Hall.

Junior Ethan Jourdan says, “Apricot Princess and Pony both have some absolute classics in them.” He adds, “I love a lot of the songs on Pony, but Apricot Princess has so many of his best songs on it […] songs like ‘Television / So Far So Good’ and ‘Happiness’ were numbers four and five on my most listened songs last year.”

Jourdan mentions that he hasn’t heard of O’Connor’s new album, “but knowing him and his quality of music, I have high expectations. His knowledge of music theory never fails to make his music unique and interesting.” He adds, “He never fails to avoid the expected and find interesting ways to tell his stories through the music itself too.”

Jourdan comments, “He always spices things up and makes sure he doesn’t repeat himself, which keeps things fresh. I think it [WHO CARES?] could turn out to be his best yet!” Like Jourdan, junior Brynn Hoffman says that her favorite albums are Pony and Apricot Princess as well. Her favorite songs areUntitled’ and ‘Waiting Room.’ Junior Sierra McManus says that her favorite songs include ‘Untitled,’ ‘Never Enough,’ ‘It’s Not The Same Anymore,’ ‘Television / So Far So Good,’ and ‘Sycamore Girl.’

She says, “Rex has a beautiful way with words. I think the new album WHO CARES? will be a mixture of his more pop-like songs, but also super heartfelt and emotional.” McManus mentions that she has already heard new singles AMAZING and KEEP IT UP and likes them both.

O’Connor just released another single called OPEN A WINDOW, featuring rapper Tyler Okonma, professionally known as Tyler, the Creator, which will also be on WHO CARES?. O’Connor and Okonma have collaborated before on Okonma’s album Flower Boy, released in 2017. Specifically, O’Connor was featured on the songs ‘Boredom’ and ‘Foreword.’

McManus says, “I hope this album has the same vibe as his previous album Apricot Princess because that one’s my favorite […] I have no doubt that this album will be incredible though, Rex is extremely talented.” After listening to the album after its release, she said, “This album is so good, it’s so chill. I feel like I could listen to all these songs falling asleep on a beach during summer time and literally love life.” McManus adds, “‘7 AM’ or ‘MAKING TIME’ [are] my favorite[s]!”

Jourdan said he was “so impressed.” after listening to the album. He adds, “‘OPEN A WINDOW’ was my favorite followed by ‘AMAZING’ and ‘ONE IN A MILLION.’ I added them to my summer anthem playlist immediately.”
