Ingredient: Carnauba wax

What it is: Carnauba wax is a wax from the leaves of the Carnauba plant, native to Brazil. In its pure state it usually comes in the form of hard yellow-brown flakes that are later refined and bleached. It is sometimes called Brazil wax, and is nontoxic.

Effect: Carnauba wax is primarily used as a glazing agent on Tic Tacs, giving them their glossy coating.Carnauba wax is said to have a distinctive sweet scent.

Other Uses: Carnauba wax is also used in automobile wax, coating candy and pills, shoe polish, dental floss, instrument polish, paper coatings, surfboard wax, cosmetics, deodorant, playing cards, and in waterproofing leather.

Alternative Food: Any alternative foods are unknown.

Effects on the body: It is non-toxic, but it is not recommended to eat excessive amounts since it is a wax.
