Seniors have their final years of school coming to a close, with graduation on May 31. With many events starting to happen for the seniors, their schedules are filling up.

The junior and senior prom was on April 29, 2023, at Valley Mansion. The first graduation practice will be on May 24. On May 25, there will be the second practice followed by the awards ceremony at 6:00 p.m. that evening. At the awards ceremony, scholarships will be awarded and the class of 2023 salutatorians will give a speech. May 30 will be the final full graduation practice.

On May 30, the senior class will do a walkthrough throughout the school. Senior Riliegh Crawford is excited for the senior walkthrough. Crawford is excited to see her “junior friends” and underclassmen that she “won’t be able to see next year.”

She is not only excited for the senior walkthrough, but Crawford is also ready for graduation. Specifically, she is excited for “after graduation and senior week.”

Senior Julia Eakes is excited for the senior walkthrough and how she will get to see “all of the people that are underclassmen that” she is friends with. Eakes also plans to reminisce on “all the memories that” she made and to say goodbye. Since she has known drama and art teacher Mrs. Nancy Green since elementary school, Eakes said she “will definitely cry when” she sees her during the walkthrough. Eakes plans to also attend the senior awards ceremony. She remembered going to her “siblings’ graduations, and it is finally [her] turn to be in the cap in gown.”

Graduation for the Hawks will be on Wednesday, May 31 at 6 p.m.. It will be at the APG Federal Credit Union Arena at Harford Community College, according to hcps.org.
