This school year, North Harford High is excited to welcome new members to its administrative team. Each new member brings unique experiences, goals, and advice for students as they begin this chapter with North Harford.
Principal Michael Quigg comes to North Harford after serving six years as principal at Aberdeen High School. His main goal this year is to continue building a positive school culture where every student feels valued, supported, and prepared for success after graduation.
Quigg has already been impressed with the school spirit and sense of pride among students and staff. “It’s clear that students and staff care deeply about this community, and that energy makes it a special place to be,” he said. His advice to students is simple: “Get involved and take advantage of the opportunities around you. Whether it’s in the classroom, on the field, on the stage, or through a club, the more engaged you are, the more rewarding your high school experience will be.”
Assistant Principal Adam Milanoski joins the nest from Fallston High School, where he worked for three years. Before that, he spent five years at Joppatowne, ten years at Patterson Mill, and also taught at Harford Tech. With nearly three decades of experience, Milanoski’s goal is to get to know people and to support teachers and students as much as possible. He has especially enjoyed watching students succeed in athletics and extracurricular activities.
“In general, the students here are good, they’re in class, they’re doing things they need to do, and there’s definitely a focus on doing the right things,” he said. His advice to students is to “pick a goal you want to concentrate on this year and focus on it.” He added that he enjoys working with kids, organizing school events, and meeting new people.
Ms. Warne, North Harford’s new school safety liaison, comes from the Southeastern Building Middle School, where she worked for three years. As a mother of six children, she hopes to be “kind of like the school mom” by building connections and supporting students. Her favorite part so far has been getting to know the kids. “They’re hilarious. They’re so funny, and [she] just loves that they’ll open up to you and talk to you about stuff,” she shared. Warne’s advice for students is to not get caught up in the little things: “Try not to sweat the small stuff. Have respect for yourself, have confidence in yourself, believe in yourself, and the other small trivial stuff kind of fades away after that.”
Together, these three new leaders are bringing energy, wisdom, and care to North Harford High. Their presence reminds students that school is not only about academics but also about building community, finding support, and making the most of every opportunity.
