Swinging back in time, how NH baseball has stood up to competition over past decade

  Coach Tim Larrimore has found success in the North Harford baseball program since 2011 coaching them to five winning seasons in the last eight seasons played however struck paydirt early in the decade.

      North Harford, led by Larrimore, went 23-3 total record with a league record of 13-1 in 2012 with the statistics to back up their legacy.

      North Harford had an average earned run average of 1.36 per game less than a third of the national average (Via MaxPreps) and this was a big factor in their season.

      Their pitching was an above average force according to the stats however the Hawks made their strides in their batting, the North Harford Hawks held a team batting average of .334, an on base percentage of .419, 58 stolen bases, and seven home runs, all of which were above the national average.

      Players Cody Brittain (‘12) and Ryan Stinar (‘12) lead the team with the only two above .450 batting seasons while Stinar and Kevin Mooney (‘12) led the team in homeruns with three a piece. (Via MaxPreps.) 

     North Harford finished 508 nationally, seventh in state, and second in state division ranking. The hawks would regress the next year to a 15-9 overall record going 7-5 in their league whilst maintaining a 2134 national rank, 40 state rank, and 10 state division rank.

      In 2014 coach Larrimore would bring his team back into the swing of winning going 22-3 with a league record of 11-1.

      The hawks would end the season with a team total 16 home runs and 41 stolen bases to top off another impressive year for coach Larrimore’s team as he claimed “We had some goals this season, we wanted to get first seed in the regionals, we got that. The next one was with Chesapeake, we got that. The third one was win the championship in the UCBAC, we got that.” 

     The team lost only three games during their season losing 3-9 to Harford tech, 7-13 to Old Mill, and 0-2 to Reservoir.

       The coach would lead the team to winning seasons although not the level of the prior season going 15-7 and 14-8 in ‘15 and ‘16 respectively. The Hawks then would endure their first losing season of the decade in 2017 going 9-12 ending the season without a single home run.

      Coach Larrimore’s team finished the season with a .251 batting average, .375 on base percentage, and 93 runs, all of which were lower than the national average. 

     The Hawks would once again take a step backwards in 2018 going 5-10 with a shocking 22 stolen bases, 39 less than last year’s 61. The Hawks went yard twice in the season with Derek McManus (‘18) and Mill Heinze (‘20) both hitting one a piece.

      North Harford in the future by going 9-11 in the 2019 season with Bobby Duffy (‘20) hitting two home runs and leading the team. While North Harford has not had a chance to play in 2020 or 2021 due to the pandemic, the team will look to compete with the losses of  Duffy and Kevin Halford (‘21), among others.
