   Family fun. Fried food. Friendly farmers. The month of July started out right with the beginning of the 15th annual Mason Dixon Farm Fair. This week long event drew a large crowd of during July 7 to July 13.

  The fairgrounds on the Maryland-Pennsylvania line were filled once again with bright lights and amusement rides.

  “I had a lot of fun at the fair. I loved riding the rides especially the zipper. There is definitely a family atmosphere at the Mason Dixon Farm Fair,” junior, Claudia DiVienti stated after attending the fair. Some other crowd favorites include The Ring of Fire and the classic Ferris wheel.

  Along with many fast-moving amusement rides, many tents and games were set up. Including the classic bottle ring toss and the balloon dart throw. Many attendees left with over-sized stuffed animals and new pet goldfish. Other than prize-winning games, many businesses set up tents; including The Mill .

   Most people that attended the Mason Dixon fair did not leave hungry. With many varieties of food such as classics like funnel cakes for $3 and corn dogs for only $2. Also some unusual foods such as fried Twinkies and Oreos.

   Throughout the week many 4-H livestock shows took place. 4-H is a non-profit organization that enables kids to show their animals including but not limited to swine, sheep, beef and dairy cattle and goats.

   “I always have great experience showing at the Mason Dixon fair. I learn a lot of responsibility through showing my animals,” junior Bobby Burton stated. Burton is one of many North Harford students who show at the fair. Some other 4-Her’s from North Harford include: seniors, Paige Rickey and Eamon Mulligan, sophomores Kimmi Doran and Anne Maxwell and incoming freshman, Paul Johnson.

    Another crowd drawing event at the Mason Dixon Farm Fair was the many types of tractor pulls. Each night consisted of a different type of pull; Monday: Lawnmower pulls, Tuesday: Monster truck show, Wednesday: Antique tractor pulls, Thursday: Classic Tractor pulls, Friday and Saturday: Truck and modified tractor pulls.
