Misentity set to go live

Are you an artist striving to get your work seen? As a writer, do you desire to get your pieces read? Then it is time for you to submit to Misentity.

Misentity is a literary magazine where students and community members can publish their artwork and writing to share with their peers.

“It is a fun way to be creative and show your individuality,” said Editor in Chief Katelyn Jones.

Folders will be placed in English classrooms with a flyer during the week of December 16, 2013 explaining the process of submitting.

This year Misentity has been completely revamped. They have taken what they have done in the past and used it to create a new and better magazine. The formatting has been changed to a less expensive one in hopes that they can possibly distribute the magazine for free.

“This year we will try to be more organized during production,” said Jones.

Sponsor and English teacher Joanne Dallam is appreciative of all the hard work Jones has put into the magazine.

“Katelyn is amazing, she has a vision and goes towards it without hesitation,” said Dallam.

Misentity Live is being held on January 7, 2014 at the Jarrettsville Creamery for anyone who wishes to sign up or to support their peers.

“Misentity Live brings out the best in students, they can even surprise themselves,” said Dallam.

A sign-up sheet will be posted in front of Mrs. Dallam’s room for anyone who is interested. Currently Creative Writing one, two, and three students are working on pieces to present.

“It will be a place where people can perform their works, show off artwork, and present their musical talents to their peers,” said Jones.

Throughout the year they will also be holding fundraisers at Chick-fil-a, Season’s Pizza, and Enotria.

“I am really hoping to increase popularity this year with all of the advertising we will be doing,” said Jones.
