SGA plans for talent show

The auditorium will be home to the annual SGA talent show on the evening of March 6. Singers, musicians, and dancers will be performing in front of a live audience to raise money for North Harford High School.

Social studies teacher Mr. Ben Scarborough is very excited for this year’s show. “The talent is great this year. I’m really excited about it; it’s going to be awesome,” said Scarborough.

Although there is not much diversity among acts this year, each singer, dancer, and musician is working hard to ensure a successful and entertaining performance.

Junior Emma Nystrom and senior Brittany Hadaway will be performing “Skinny Love,” with Nystrom doing vocals and Hadaway playing piano. They have been practicing for a few weeks, and they are looking forward to their act because they have found success in previous talent shows.

“Last year was so fun so I know this year will turn out well,” said Nystrom. “I’m looking  looking forward to watching her fellow classmates put on a show that will not soon be forgotten. I have a lot of friends performing and I’m excited to see them do well.”

Freshman Aaron Rogers will be singing the famous Billy Joel song, “Piano Man”. He has been practicing at home, and although he found the audition process boring, he is feeling “excited for the show.”

Senior Holly Ciampaglio said, “I’m excited to see Aaron Rogers perform because I’ve only heard him sing a solo once, and it’s nice to see freshmen try new things and put themselves out there in their first year of high school.” Ciampaglio will be dancing again this year, along with her friend, Zack Johnson. She says auditions went “really well,” and the duo is looking forward to the show.

The sophomore band “Twilight and Orange” will also return to the stage this year. Scarborough is especially excited for their performance because “they have changed their sound a lot, [as a band] they’re really good.”

While each act is busy preparing for the show on March 6, the SGA plans to raise a large amount of money for the school. Senior Noah League said, “All of the proceeds will go back to the school in some way.”
