As the senior’s last days start ticking down, the celebration is just getting started. Senior festivities have been being planned by the Senior Advisors, Mr. Larbalestrier, Mrs. Allred, and Mrs. Smick.

Larbalestrier has been a senior advisor for ten years at North Harford. He is in charge of planning the senior trip to Hershey Park. Last year, due to scheduling issues, the senior trip was pushed around in dates. This year, however the date has remained the same.

Larbalestrier stated that, “watching students move onto new things as they graduate” is the best part of being a senior advisor. But there is a lot of work involved also. “We have about 130 students going to Hershey this year.”

Smick is the primary teacher along with Allred. Planning for this trip includes catering, location, ice cream trucks and games. Smick said, “a lot of work goes into it, including the gift certificate packet that students can take to their Ocean City or wherever”

Many students have expressed their excitement for the trip. Hannah Hieronimus commented on both the trip and picnic, “a lot of my friends are going, it is going to be a lot of fun. I heard from my friends who graduated last year said it was a great time”

Chris Parks doesnt know what to expect on the trip or picnic. Parks said “I’m just going to get on the bus, I don’t know anyone who’s going but I am sure i’ll find some people.” But with over 100 people attending the trip, there will be tons of people to hang out with.

Senior festivities are a rite of passage for these soon to be college freshman, and as the excitement of being graduated continues to build, the senior advisory staff has done a great job of keeping them entertained.
