Student teacher basketball game: one will school the other

Even though school has only been in session for a little over two months, teachers and students are already at each other’s throats. With a rivalry brewing between the two contrasting groups, a friendly game of student teacher basketball is the perfect way to school the competition.

On November 21st, the student teacher basketball game will be held in the gym at 6 pm, and it will be announced by the Niche’s chief editor Katherine Duley and Cry of the Hawk’s production manager Emma Beck. The game will be refereed by sports editor Wade McCartin.

Teachers and students have been working vigorously for just one night of victory against the other, and only one group is bound to win.

Teachers set to play are: Christine Allred, David Orth, Michael James, Nathan Glenn, Doug Heeter, Joshua Korbeck, Mark Filiaggi, and Justin Martinek.

However, many of the seniors are looking forward to finally showing off their skills and embarrassing the teachers. Many are coaches or teachers that they have had in the past.

“I’m looking forward to dunking on the teachers. Look out Filiaggi, I’m going to dunk on your face,” said senior Braden Stinar. Filiaggi contested Stinar by claiming Stinar will in fact, not dunk on his face.

Many students are already formulating game plans to take down their competition, a strategy to intimidate their competition.

“I’m going to use my exquisite handles and my amazing jumper, so watch out Allred because I’m coming for you,” said senior Luke Johnson. However, Allred did not seem intimidated by his trash talk.

Also making special appearances at the student teacher basketball game is North Harford’s own Dance team and cheerleading squad. They will both be putting on performances courtesy of the school for the halftime show.

“On a scale of one to dunking on some teachers, my excitement for the game is about seven, which is pretty good for a white guy who can’t jump,” said senior Colin Tridone.

By the end of the night, North Harford will have a champion. The teachers will give the students a lesson in the game, or the students will take the teachers to school.
