Frustrated with the way that the board has been treating teachers these past few years, foods teacher Mrs. Stephanie Hildebrand is hanging up her apron at the end of the school year.
“Mrs. Hildebrand truly cares about her students and their progress,” says junior Mercy Dunham. “She works outside of school in order for students to succeed. She is also very involved with the Best Buddies program.
Hildebrand hopes people remember her most as somebody who “has a passion for helping students learn what their capable of.”
Beyond the classroom, Hildebrand has helped the Drama Department in the past as the costume designer for the musicals and plays. Though she will not be working at NH, she plans to assist them in future shows.
“It crushes me that she is leaving us,” says drama teacher Nancy Green. “What she does behind the scenes, in the classroom, is immeasurable. All of these things will be genuinely missed next year. There is nobody like Mrs. Hildebrand, she has such an incredible personality.”
After leaving NH, Hildebrand also plans to make and sell her own jewelry.
