Most of the homeless at this shelter are veterans who came out of war with drug addictions because of the trauma they endured. At this Baltimore homeless shelter, workers try to get these veterans back on their feet and 80% of the men graduate from here with drug/alcohol free lives.

Montgomery County Coalition– The Montgomery County Coalition for the homeless is located in Silver Spring, Maryland. Here, over 1000 men, women and children are served.  The organization actually owns 56 homes in the Silver Spring area for the homeless to live in permanently.

At the Meeting Ground homeless shelter, they assist at least 26,000 people and a year they help at least 80 people, so there’s always room available. They have emergency and transitional housing for families and adults and provide schooling and resources for the homeless as well as emergency food.  In a year they distribute 2000 bags of food to the homeless.
