Big Apple Dreamin’: Business Department goes to New York

On November 11, 2015,  a group of students,  advisors and teachers headed by bus to the Big Apple.

“We have been doing this trip for six or seven years now. Students don’t get to see New York. I’m surprised at how many students never been there, so we do the trip and it’s kind of promotional for the business department,” said Brian McCormack.  “ We take business honor society, FBLA members and some of our top students,” said the programming and business teacher.

There were a lot of things to see on the trip. Senior Allie Kettel said that her group, “got a tour of Radio City Music Hall, which was really cool. We got to go backstage, meet a Rockette face to face, and we got to see a little part of their Christmas Spectacular.”  “We also went to see the top of the Rockefeller Center which was really cool, even though it was so foggy we couldn’t see anything. We also went to Nintendo World, Hershey World, and M&M World. All in all it was a very cool, and interesting trip,” said the senior.

Allie and senior Chaz Kerby agreed that they highly  recommend going on this trip next year.  “ Everyone should try and go on this trip.” Senior Nicholas Christopher added to the recommendation, “I would recommend it. I guess it just provides new experiences, it allows me to see new things. It lets you experience more of the world, more things outside of which you normally see.” Wyatt Stinnett said it was “fun visiting the big city.”  He remarked there were “cool sights even though the fog was heavy, but what really stood out was the sighting of the wild Newman and the opportunity to see the Christmas rehearsal.”

Nicholas has been multiple times throughout his high school and says “ Both times I went we did go to different places so it’s a different trip each year. Some of the places are the same, but there’s also different places like, last year we went to Madison Square Garden and we did not go this year. This year we went to the Radio City Music Hall instead. So it’s always different.”

“It was awesome! They enjoyed it, they had a great time. We, when we first got there we had lunch, we had a couple different places they went, and then we ended up going to The Rock and they got to go up on the top, it was foggy, but the kids still had a good times,” said Vicky Bridges We went to; we had dinner that night and had a sit down dinner. We actually went to the Radio City Music Hall which was an awesome experience. I’ve been umteen times, but this time they [Rockettes] were actually performing. They were getting ready, they were doing their dress rehearsal for their show that started that week so I think the kids were in awe and that they were able to see an actual broadway show.”
