The Hawks boys soccer team has had a rollercoaster of a season. With a so far winning record of 6-2-4, the Hawks are gearing up for the upcoming playoffs.

‘Keeping’ the Hawks in the game for the regional title is stand out player and goalie, junior Andrew Klapka.

“He is the best goalie in Harford County and has kept us in numerous games with his outstanding saves,” explains head coach, Matt Johnstone.

Klapka’s current statistics for the season are a total of 107 saves in 12 games, averaging 9 saves a game.

“I feel confident with Klap as the last line of defense and he has definitely earned his spot here on the team,” stated senior captain Josh Young.

Klapka also stands with 10 goals scored against the Hawks in 12 games, approximately less than one goal let in per game.

With still 2 games left to go in the season, and then playoffs shortly after, Klapka is sure to positively add to those stats.

“I am really excited and it just shows the hard work that I put in practice plays off in games,” explains Klapka.
