Cheerleading

The season of high ponies, killer routines, and extreme school spirit is back for the fall season.

Cheerleading has begun and the Hawks varsity cheerleading squad has four new freshmen joining the team and the most seniors on their team this year.

One of the senior captains, Brandy Coates, said that she’s excited and is impressed on how much tumbling has improved.

“We also have 4 really good freshman, Gabby Sewell, Haleigh Ares, Lizzy Fenner, and Victoria Reinhardt”, states Coates.

Coates said this year the seniors on the team have different roles as captains. For example, she states that someone is in charged of making sure everyone is wearing their spirit wear or uniforms.

The team can  be seen in action at the Harford County cheer competition in the fall. Coates states that it’s the last competition of the falls season and all of Harford County gets to see their skills.

“Counties is one of the most important and we get to go to regional’s if we make top 3,”       sophomore Megan Calhoun said.

Along with counties, Coates states that they also have invitationals every single week this October. “The judges comment on things you may want to improve on before going to counties,” states Coates.
