Every students nightmare

Despite the gobs of snow that have been pouring down over Maryland this winter, we have been close, but lucky enough to not have been stranded at school with no way home.

Children in schools in Georgia and Alabama weren’t as fortunate as we have been.

The last place any kid wants to be in the first place is school. But to be stranded there overnight, that is just a nightmare.

Having to be with kids and teachers you may not be able to tolerate for more than an hour on a regular basis is hard enough without the extra 23 hours you now have to spend with them.

But being a negative Nelly certainly is not the answer in a situation where everyone is already miserable.

The only thing we could do is to make the best of such a chilly situation.

Oh the things we would do if we were stuck at North Harford overnight.

We could have wheely chair races down the hallways. For added fun, we could take the cafeteria trays out back and go sledding down the stadium stairs.

Other possibilities include ice skating and fishing on the pond.

You can also head over to the gym for some duck-duck-goose and dodge ball led by Mrs. O’Leary and Mr. Barrett.

If you are a more academically driven person, you can stroll over to Mr. Knoll’s room where brain games such as sudoku and trivial pursuit tournaments would be held.

In for a laugh? Check out Ross Jarrar in his stand up comedy act in the auditorium. Accompanying him is Kevin Snee with a reenactment of his Mr. North Harford dance performance in yoga pants.

If you have a musical side, Mr. Herbold and Mr. James will begin a marathon of sing-along songs, including Fergalicious, What Makes You Beautiful, and Call Me Maybe.

By the time you participate in all of the on-going, high energy activities around the school, you will have had so much fun that you were actually glad you were stranded at school.
