Tractor Day

North Harford’s annual Ag Heritage day, often referred to as Tractor Day, was on April 4, 2014. On this day many students that participate in FFA choose to drive their tractors to school and share their agricultural experience with other students.
Along with showcasing tractors, students also displayed many of the Ag programs animals on this day.
“I’m working with the pigs, it’s fun to tell people about them because people don’t know how much we do with them, in the summer we even show them in the Harford County Farm Fair,” said sophomore Amanda Lietuvnikas, “right now we are working on getting them used to being around people and certain equipment like a spray bottle.”
“The most important part of Ag Heritage day is education, it gives students the opportunity to share what they have been learning and experiences that they have had, the goal is to teach students the heritage of agriculture,” said Ag teacher, Katie Warner.
Many Alumni also participated in Tractor Day this year.
“I’m glad I got to come back this year for Tractor Day,” said 2013 graduate, Ariel Breidenbaugh, “I think the most important part of Tractor Day is showing kids who don’t know anything about the Ag program why North Harford has a barn on campus.”
“I think it’s cool that Tractor Day shows how farming has progressed over time by having tractors and machines from a variety of years,” said 2011 graduate, Caleb Smith
