Mr.Bayne makes himself at home in the Hawks Nest

Another teaching couple comes to North Harford, bringing social studies teacher Ryan Bayne. He teaches honors and standard government, and AP Macroeconomics.

Bayne attended Mary Washington College in Virginia. He remained there for seven years, obtaining his bachelors and masters degrees.

When teaching, Bayne likes to see improvement in students who have previously struggled. It is rewarding for him to see students gradually improving.

“I like to find ways to make the subject more meaningful for the students who do not have a huge interest in the topic,” said Bayne. “I feel like there is always something more, something different that I’m not doing. I know different students learn at different levels, and it is a constant struggle to try to individually reach out to everybody.”

Bayne is excited to teach at North Harford along with his wife, Laura Bayne, who teaches math and English.

“The teachers here are wonderful; the administrators are great, and the students are really good to work with. Also, the campus here is beautiful,” said Bayne.

Not only is Bayne a teacher who is committed to his job, but there are some things about him that might shock his students. Bayne is actually capable of solving a rubik’s cube in under a minute and a half. Also, Bayne was featured in a local rap album while he was in Virginia, where he learned to rap freestyle; sadly, students and faculty cannot buy the album unless they drive down to Virginia themselves.
