Cross country requires its athletes to attend practice everyday after school, and to continue to push themselves to become the best athletes that they can be.

This month, one athlete that accomplished a lot was senior Megan Tidey.

“Megan is our returning top runner,” stated Coach Laura O’Leary. “She is coming back from a summer of pretty severe illness.”

“I am astounded and quite frankly surprised,” stated Tidey.

“She is really peppy and adds spirit to the team. She always does her best, pushes herself and wants to do better,” stated team captain Kristen Zdon.

“She’s really nice. She is good at cheering everyone on and getting everyone ready for the race,” stated freshman Destiny Williams who also runs for the cross country team.

“On Tuesday the eighth, it was finally her day, she pushed herself and raced to her potential,” stated Coach O’Leary.

That day was divisional, hosted here at North Harford. Tidy ran her race in approximately 22 minutes, winning the race.

“I try to set a positive example and cheer for every person on the team,” stated Tidey.
