Cross country crosses finish line

After the meet at McDaniel College for States, the Cross Country season ended.
“I’m going to miss how close we all are and how much fun we have at practice,” stated senior captain Paige Rickey.
Mr. Eric Benjamin and Mrs. Laura O’Leary guided the Hawks to another successful season. At UCBAC, the boys team finished first and the girls finished in second. At regionals, the boys came in first and the girls came in fourth. At regionals, Megan Tidey and Nick Fransham placed first as individuals. The girls cross country team came in ninth at states.
“Our season went really well and everyone tried their best and their hardest. They pushed through the workouts and the meets,” stated senior and captain Kristen Zdon.
With the season over, the team members of cross country squad continue to work hard.
“Championships are built in the off-season, not in the running that is done when an athlete meets with the coach once the season starts. If the team hopes to improve on this year’s performances, all members should plan to find a way to run throughout the year and especially in the summer months leading to the fall season,” stated Coach Benjamin.
