MD Crab Bowl

The Maryland Crab Bowl is an “all-star” type football games for the best high school athletes from the Maryland/DC area. It gives seniors the chance to play with other great talents from around the state and the game helps with athletes who are still hoping to be recruited to play college football. 2013 marked the sixth annual Crab Bowl game and it was played at McDaniel College in Westminster.
Student athletes from the Baltimore area high schools square off against Washington DC area high schools, and in the six year history of the game, Washington has a 4-2 lead on the series. The DC team also won this year’s game 30-21.
North Harford had two senior athletes that participated in the event, which took place on December 21. Quarterback Nic Hammer and Receive/Defensive Back Ryan Feiss made the trip over to Westminster, both players had remarkable seasons for North Harford, Feiss leading the team in receiving yards and tackles and Hammer leading the team in passing yards, rushing yards and touchdowns.
“It was an awesome experience to be surrounded by great talent and I felt very blessed to be able to participate in the game.” said Hammer, “practice was always inside, which was cool. Once in the Ravens facility which was awesome because my favorite team and favorite players in the NFL practice there every week. Go Ravens.”
Washington had 264 yards while Baltimore had 241, however the game was decided by Baltimore’s awful 0-7 on third down conversions and three interceptions.
