Sarah Reifsnyder played in the National Indoor Tournament for field hockey with her team, H2O field hockey club from March fourth through the sixth. This tournament is one where the girls are polled from A-Z and are in a bracket with five teams including hers making it six teams total.. Her team played a total of five games, including one on Friday the fourth, two on Saturday the fifth, and two on Sunday the sixth.

Reifsnyder’s team was placed in bracket X out of A-Z and walked away with a medal for her bracket.  She is the goalie for her team, (also was the goalie for the highschool varsity team) and she says “my favorite part about being a goalie for my team is just being with the girls. I also love the part of just getting to know that they all always have my back on and off the field. They are like a family to me.”

Reifsnyder said her favorite parts about the tournament were “spending time with my teammates but also winning our bracket and walking away with the medal.   She continues “my absolute favorite part was D1 and D2 colleges watching our games for scholarship purposes.”

She says the hardest part about the tournament was playing the team Recon because they were the hardest team they played “and they have always been one our toughest competitors. Cards and whistles are always  blown all the time whenever we play them because we are both just rough teams especially when playing against each other.”

The worst part about the tournament for Reifsnyder was that she and her team would have late night games and would have long breaks throughout the days just  waiting for the next game to begin for them and have the repeat for all three days.

“Our first game on friday we played against TCOYO and we beat them 6-2, we then played on saturday which were the Strikers and Pinnacle, we beat the Strikers 11-0 and Pinnacle 12-0, our last two games on sunday that we played, we played against Recon and NYHC. We beat Recon 5-2, which we were all so happy and excited about because it was actually a hard game, and then beat NYHC 5-2 which we were also happy about.”
